TRUTH IS I'M TIRED
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. " Matthew 11:28
Truth is, I'm tired, and my options are few. 'What do I do now?' I asked myself. Can you relate? Have you been in that place of Tired-City where there is one sickness after the other, one trial after another, one heartache after the other? Have you ever felt like you are on the tennis court, training by yourself with the automatic tennis ball launcher? Now, the tennis ball launcher is a device designed to automatically launch tennis balls, allowing players to practice their shots without the need for a partner. Alertness is very important when using this machine. Whether you are ready or not, once it's started, this machine spits the balls out one after another. Recently, that's how I felt in my life, like I was standing in front of a trial machine launcher. My children and I were going through a launching of sickness: one after the other. As soon as one started feeling better, the other one picked up the baton. As soon as that one started feeling better, I picked up the baton. As soon as I was feeling better, the other one took the baton, and we kept going on as if we were running a 1500-meter relay. My body was enervated, and I was beyond exhausted. I was weary. I cried out to God one night and said, "God, what is the lesson that you are teaching me?' I am tired. I had a sit-down moment with Him. It was not a long one because I was tired. I went to bed, and the Holy Spirit directed me to Isaish 54. You can read it, but in this passage, God sent Isaiah to speak to the nation of Israel. The passage was for Israel, and it is applicable to all of God's people even today. He reminds us that He will not forsake His people in their time of trial. He says, 'For a small moment have I forsaken you, but in great mercies will I gather thee." Is this scripture only for those who are not seeking God? No. It is for all who have sinned and come short of God's glory. During my tiredness, I was reminded of Isaiah 40:29-31, which says, "He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not be faint."
God's strength is made perfect for us, and when we ask Him for it , He will give it. He will give us just enough strength for each day. Even though I was tired during that period, God was with us carrying us. During our trials, we may feel like we are bending, but with God, we will not break. My friend, let me encourage you with the fact that just as how God heals my children and I, the healing is available to you also. We all have our different journey to travel; we all take different steps but at the end we experience the miracle from the same person- our Heavenly Father. His miracle is not limited to only my family but to all who need it. Just as how His grace is sufficient for all, that's how it is with His miracle: it is sufficient for us, it will never be depleted. Whatever your reason for being in Tired City today, reach out to your Father, He instructed you to come to Him with the burdens that make you tired, and He will give you rest. Take that moment of rest as you prepare to walk into the next part of your journey.
